Healthy living isn’t always about eating right and exercising, although those have a lot to do with it.  It’s also about being  healthy in the mind.  Coping with stress is hard for many people.  Being stressed can lead to a weakened heart and immune system.  Between work, home duties, money, and many other things, there is a lot to think about.  Take a look at this news video on stress relief.

Self-Help for Stress is a great tool on coping with stress.  An important tool it discusses is having a plan for when certain things happen.  For example, when you’re starting to get stressed because of house duties, go outside for a short walk.  Or when you’re getting stressed from work, shoot a basketball for five miutes.  They will be different for everybody and for each situation, but can make a huge difference when you can relax for just five minutes.

As the diagram above shows, stress ccan cause people to be tired, among many other things.  Someone can be stressed from having a project due, and they should take a short ten-minute power nap to help–it would help relieve the stress and prevent the tiredness that will inevitably come on.

STRESS is another great website that gives stress management techniques that can help in out everyday lives, like setting goals, not procrastinating, taking breaks, not being a perfectionist, and so on.
